Honda NSX
The NSX was the supercar build by Honda from the years 1991 to 2005. It became the world's first mass produced car to feature an all-aluminium body. It was powered by an aluminium block 3.0 L V6 mid mounted engine, which featured Honda's famous VTEC (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control). The car was further improved by one of the greatest F1 drivers to ever live, the late great Ayrton Senna. He provided valuable feedback to Honda from a race drivers perspective in order to make it a competition destroying supercar.
The NSX became the poster car for Honda as it was the first true supercar they build and no other Japanese manufacturer at the time had anything close. It was elegant yet powerful putting out 216kw. This was plenty of power for the lightweight agile machine.
The car gained large popularity due to its ability to beat supercars such as Ferrari and Lamborghini in its time. With Ayrton Senna describing it as the greatest automobile he ever drove. This JDM classic is highly sought after by collectors due to its rarity. In 2016 Honda released the second generation of the NSX, let’s hope that it will also become a JDM classic honouring its past heritage.
